Super Kids' Place Inc. (SKP) was formed in 1983 as one of the first before and after school based child care center in Anne Arundel County.
We are non-profit organization providing quality care for before and after school. We offer a safe and friendly environment - as much like home as possible for children dwhose parents work, continue their education or need to be away from home.
Super Kids' Place Inc. offers many opportunities that empower children to make choices and decisions for themselves on their own, allowing them to express themselves in activities that suit their personalities. We provide a developmentally appropriate program for the intellectual, physical, emotional and social needs of each child.
It's important to us to develop an atmosphere that helps your child build positive self esteem.
Super Kids' Place Inc. has four school locations. Belvedere, Arnold, Jones, and Point Pleasant Elementary, all of which are located in Anne Arundel County, Md.
Executive Director ,Karen Lloyd, with over 25 years of experience, participates in the daily planning and supervision as well as filling in at centers when needed.
A dedicated staff is trained in CPR and First Aid.
High school and college age volunteers who participate for academic credits. High school students can recieve community service hours.
Since the service is based in schools, Super Kids' Place Inc. offers a secure location, eliminates the need for extra transportation and allows children to participate in many after school activities and community events.
Super Kids' Place Inc. is licensed by the Maryland Department of Education which inspects our program unannounced.
Super Kids' Place Inc. follows the Maryland State Department of Education regulations.
Super Kids' Place Inc. is a member of the Maryland School Age Child Care Alliance, Maryland Committee for Children and Anne Arundel County Network Resource.
Who Can Attend Super Kids' Place?
Any child in grades kindergarten through fifth grade who attends the elementary school. The program is based on a first - come, first- served basis, and limited to the maximum number of participants allowed by state regulation. Once the limit is reached, you may request to be placed on a waiting list.
What are the hours of operation?
Monday through Friday 7:00 am until start of school and from the close of school until 6:00 pm (our Point Pleasant location opens at 6:30am. Care during delayed school opening and early closings are provided no extra charge, except August and June. All holidays when school is closed , we are also closed. There is no summer program .
If schools opens one hour late, we will be open at 8 a.m. If schools open two hours late we will open at 9 a.m.
If there is an unscheduled early dismissal due to emergency, SKP we will be CLOSED. Further information under inclement weather.
If school afternoon activities are cancelled, SKP is open until 5:00 pm. Late fees will apply after 5:00 pm.
